Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University organized the 10th Chemistry Challenge Competition for senior high school students (10th Chem Challenge), held on 11th February 2023. During the competition, a Mini Workshop in the topic of “Small Scale Experiment: Lab@Home Demonstration” (which had been developed and used for laboratory teaching by the department during the COVID-19 pandemic) was organized for the teachers who accompanied their students to the competition. The workshop was conducted by Associate Professor Dr. Wanlapa Aeungmaitrepirom, Associate Professor Dr. Fuangfa Unob and Dr. Janjira Panchompoo. Generally, there were 22 teachers from 21 schools across Thailand participating in this workshop which focused on two main parts including (1) introduction and development of small-scale experiments, and (2) practical hands-on experience using the developed small-scale Lab@Home experiment kits for the determination of Fe(II) by redox titration, together with the brainstorming activity centered on designing and performing the electrolysis of water. The post-workshop evaluation indicated that teachers had gained valuable knowledge and understanding in conducting small-scale experiments and had also acquired new ideas and inspiration for developing and implementing them in the classroom.
