The Department welcomes Dr. Wid Mekseriwattana to be our new faculty member, starting from July 1, 2024.
Dr. Wid Mekseriwattana received his PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Mahidol University in 2022, where he worked on the synthesis and modification of superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) for biomedical applications under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kanlaya Katewongsa. During that time, he spent one year abroad as a visiting student at the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona, working with Prof. Anna Roig on studying the interactions of SPIONs with amyloid-beta for diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease. He was then worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Italian Institute of Technology for Dr. Teresa Pellegrino on the synthesis of iron oxide nanocubes for magnetic hyperthermia therapy. Dr. Wid became a faculty member at the Department of Chemistry of Chulalongkorn University as of July 2024. His research focuses on the synthesis of inorganic nanoparticles and their applications in biomedical fields.
