Ultrasensitive Photothermal/Fluorescent Paper-Based Microfluidic Immunosensor for Nuclear Matrix Protein 22 (NMP22) Quantification in Human Urine Samples for Rapid Diagnosis of Bladder Cancer

The first paper-based microfluidic sensing platform has been successfully developed for sensitive and selective monitoring of NMP22 levels in human urine samples for rapid bladder cancer diagnostics, integrating microfluidics, optical nanomaterials, biopolymer immobilization, and immunological technique, led by Dr. Kawin Khachornsakkul and Assist. Prof. Dr. Waleed Alahmad. The developed immunosensor can monitor NMP22 levels with dual photothermal and fluorescent detection techniques, achieving the detection limit of 6.5 ag mL-1. This allows a rapid and reliable diagnosis of bladder cancer in a medical diagnostic system.
