Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University (CU) together with Chula Zero Waste organize a seminar & workshop under the theme “Chula Sustainnovation Series, Episode 1: Ocean Plastics” in font of the lecture room within The Science Space, Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University which will be held on November 28, 2022 during 9.30-15.30
The activities include a Keynote Talk by Prof. John. C. Warner, a researcher and innovator who is an expert in the field of Green Chemistry and established “12 Principles of Green Chemistry”. He will join a panel discussion with experts in Ocean Plastics from CU, Professor Suchana Chavanich, Department of Marine Science, Faculty of Science and Dr.Sujitra Vassanadumrongdee, Environmental Research Institute.
Participants will have a chance to join “Zero Waste Lunch”. We ask all participants to bring their own water bottles. Drink will be provided by Chula Zero Waste.
In the afternoon, there will be an Open House of CU graduate programs in Science and Engineering towards policy, sustainability and environment: (1) Green Chemistry and Sustainability (International Program), (2) International Program in Hazardous Substances and Environmental Management, (3) International Collaborative Program in Sustainable Materials and Technology for Industries, (4) Environment, Development and Sustainability International Program, (5) Innovative Engineering for Sustainability
In the afternoon, there will be a workshop on “Chula’s Waste Journey”. The participants will get to learn how CU manages wastes on campus and have a chance to see bio-digester and waste compressor machines. The activities will be ended at “CU Centenary Park”
